In Illinois, if a spouse is living, does the will of the deceased spouse have to be read to the family of the deceased spouse? Sorry if it is worded confusingly, but im not quiet sure how else to say it. Please leave me your source, or your answer will be disregarded. In illinois, if a spouse is living, does the will of the deceased spouse have to be read to the family?
Actually the whole reading out of a will thing is not actually necessary (the book I have even said it's mostly confined to the world of fiction).

The executor will usually inform the beneficiaries of the contents of the will; so if surviving relatives aren't in the will, then no, they don't have to tell them what's in it at all.In illinois, if a spouse is living, does the will of the deceased spouse have to be read to the family?
In no state is there a law that requires a reading of a will. Too many bad movies.

Executor at some point needs to submit a copy of the will after it has been thru probate and a final accounting to the heirs
Only on TV. In the real world, reading the will is quite rare. If you want a will submitted to a probate court, take it to the probate court and start the process.
